Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SGTurbo ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the SGTurbo application on iOS, Android, or the web (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

a. Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication credentials. Account services are powered by Supabase.

b. Inventory and business data

You may upload or create items, manifests, supplies, containers, retailer/supplier records, and export files. This data is stored in our cloud database so it can sync across your devices and team members in real time.

c. Device and usage data

We collect standard usage analytics to understand how the Service is used and to diagnose issues. This includes device type, operating system, app version, session duration, feature usage, and crash reports. Analytics are processed by:

  • PostHog — product analytics (events, feature usage, session data).
  • Firebase Analytics — aggregate usage statistics.
  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports and diagnostic logs to help us fix bugs.

d. Camera, microphone, and files

SGTurbo may request access to your device camera to scan barcodes (via Google ML Kit barcode scanning, text recognition, and object detection), your microphone for voice-to-text features (processed on-device via system speech services), and your file system for uploading manifests, images, or export files. We only access these when you initiate the action and only for the stated purpose.

On-device processing: barcode scanning, text recognition, and object detection use Google ML Kit and run locally on your device. Raw camera frames are not transmitted to our servers.

e. AI-generated content

When you use AI-assisted features (title, description, and pricing suggestions), your item data may be sent to our AI processing services. The generated suggestions are returned to you within the app. We do not use your data to train general-purpose AI models.

2. How we use your information

  • Operate and improve the Service — store and sync your inventory data, authenticate your account, and deliver features you request.
  • Provide support — respond to your questions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Analytics and stability — understand usage patterns, fix crashes, and improve performance.
  • Configuration — deliver feature flags and app configuration via Firebase Remote Config.
  • Communicate — send service-related emails (e.g. account verification, important updates). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

3. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — trusted third parties that help us operate the Service (Supabase for database and authentication, Firebase for analytics and crash reporting, PostHog for product analytics). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL) and Firebase. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, authentication tokens, and role-based permissions. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is 100% secure.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes. Crash reports and aggregated analytics data may be retained in de-identified form.

6. Your rights and choices

  • Access and export — you can access and export your inventory data at any time through the Service.
  • Correction — you can update your account information and inventory data directly within the app.
  • Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@sgturbo.com.
  • Device permissions — you can revoke camera, microphone, or file access at any time through your device settings. Some features will be unavailable without these permissions.
  • Analytics opt-out— you may be able to limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings. Contact us if you would like to opt out of analytics.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International data transfers

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
